{ Your Skin }
We have heard our granny’s or some relative telling us to take care of our skin and to use natural products as much as possible. Although it is difficult to prepare all those ‘natural remedies’ by ourselves, because our busy schedule, etc., today’s market offers a variety of options for each individual’s needs and wants. Now, it is important to understand that most of the products that we see in the stores have been created to work with each other, meaning that when you have a product routine it will work their best all together than having different branded products combined. In the other hand, with time your skin will get used to the same products, so it is normal to change them from time to time, otherwise they will seem not to work for you any longer. Same with cosmetics.
Q. Do I need to have a facial before my event? If so, how long in advance and what do I need?
A. It is not required but definitely will allow your skin to be clean, balance your skins’ pH and will allow your cells to re-generate, minimizing the visibility of pores. Each individual is different one from another; Each one of you will need a different facial treatment: some of you have oily, sensitive, normal, combination or dry skin or are in a different special treatment like Retin A, hormonal, etc or have a special skin condition like Rosacea, Dermatitis, etc. The professional Aesthetician will determine which facial treatment will be the best for you. Always ask which products she will be using and ask for the active ingredients, in the event that you are allergic to something.
I always suggest my clients to have a facial at least two (2) weeks in advance of their event; That will help your skin to heal and get back to ‘normal’. And one important fact that you need to know: Sometimes the very next or couple of days after you have a facial you will have some skin breakouts; Know that this is normal as your skin it’s healing from the removal of death cells, blackheads and /or whiteheads. This is why you should have it done weeks in advance and not days before your special occasion. * Always give 4 – 5 days to your skin to heal, if you have scaring, allergies or severe breakouts, you should go back and visit the professional that did the service, as she can see what’s happening after the facial and will be able to help you or refer you to a Dermatologist. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds the following days after your facial.
